Mor Furniture For Less - Extrememly disappointed in bait and switch approach
Mor Furniture For Less - Extrememly disappointed in bait and switch approach - Image 2

My experience with Mor Furniture has been extremely disappointing. Their slogan, "More Furniture for Less," is deceptive because you end up getting less in terms of customer service, empathy, and accountability.

They misinform their customers, lack communication with their corporate site and warranty partners, and exhibit numerous other issues.

In March 2021, my wife and I made a significant purchase of over $4,200 to furnish our new home. We also opted for a 4-Year safeguard protection plan for the furniture, which the sales rep, Lisa Peck, assured us would cover any issues for an additional 4 years after the manufacturer's warranty expired. We specifically purchased Power Lift chairs for my disabled mother, who needed assistance due to her upcoming hip surgery and reliance on a walker. The warranty played a crucial role in our decision.

Two years later, one of the chairs required repair.

We contacted the warranty company, HHC USA Corp/Moto Motion, and provided all the necessary information, including the receipt. Donna Worthey, the representative I spoke with, mentioned that a technician would inspect the chair once the motor parts arrived. The technician arrived on May 13, 2022, and identified multiple issues, including a bent mechanism and a tear in the fabric caused by the bending. He assured us that he would request the necessary replacement parts for the repair.

However, the situation took a frustrating turn.

Ten days later, on May 23, 2023, Donna Worthey claimed she hadn't received a copy of the receipt and Furniture Protection Plan, which I had previously sent. I promptly emailed her the screenshots and confirmed receipt with her over the phone. After reviewing the notes, she informed me that the warranty company refused to ship the repair items, claiming it would cost them more to fix the chair than its worth. She then proposed issuing a credit for the chair instead of repairing it, which made no sense given our original intention of purchasing the warranty to ensure my mother's needs were met.

Despite my objections, she maintained that I should take the matter up with the store.

I expressed my dissatisfaction and requested information about the credited amount and when someone would contact me. Unfortunately, she provided no concrete answers, leaving me frustrated and forced to deal with Mor Furniture. On the same day, Ms. Worthey emailed me confirming the credit request approval and informed me that the store would get in touch with me.

However, I didn't receive any communication from the store, so on May 26, 2023, I reached out to Ms.

Worthey again via email. She confirmed that the corporate office would be the one to contact me. I also attempted to contact the corporate office directly but was met with limited assistance. Despite explaining the situation to Geovanna, she couldn't find any information in their systems and promised to email Ms.

Worthey for clarification. Unfortunately, I never received a response from Geovanna.

Finally, on May 30, 2023, Ms. Worthey responded via email, reiterating that I should speak to the corporate store about the credit. I conveyed my conversation with Geovanna and expressed my disappointment with both companies' lack of accountability.

I accused them of engaging in a bait-and-switch tactic to sell the warranty, and I emphasized my unhappiness with the outcome. I informed Ms. Worthey that I would be visiting the store and reaching out again if necessary.

On June 1, 2023, I received a call from Geovanna, and I returned her call. She informed me that she could see the credit for the chair in their system, equal to the original price paid.

However, she suggested that I go to the store to explore their limited selection and use the credit for alternative furniture if I couldn't find a suitable chair for my mother. I reiterated my desire to have the chair replaced, but Geovanna insisted that the store couldn't control the warranty company's actions. Frustrated by the lack of options, I reluctantly agreed to visit the store.

On June 2, 2023, my mother and I visited the store and found their selection of power lift chairs to be very limited. As a result, she decided against purchasing a chair from Mor Furniture.

Later that evening, my wife and I returned to the store and, out of desperation, found two chairs that matched the store credit value. We worked with Tim, the manager who assisted us earlier, and when we were about to schedule the pickup, he unexpectedly mentioned returning the damaged chair to obtain the credit. Despite showing him the emails where this option wasn't mentioned, he insisted on emailing Geovanna for clarification, which was pointless since it was after business hours.

This entire experience has left me frustrated and disappointed. I spoke to three different individuals - a manager, someone from the corporate office, and a representative from the warranty company - but none of them reassured me or showed any empathy for my situation.

As a manager myself, I find it appalling that no one took responsibility or offered a reasonable solution.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against buying furniture from Mor Furniture or purchasing a warranty from HHC USA Corp/Moto Motion. These companies prioritize making the sale over customer care and accountability.

Delivery date is today no call, no way to talk to anyone, MOR representatives do not take responsibility for their actions, even if u pay in full! no call has been revived with any type of confirmation. And the texting customer service is no good! They read their answers from a rehearsed book providing me with no real answer or resolutions!

On 2/3 22 my husband and I purchased a living room sectional for $3002. After the first day of delivery we noticed there was a scratch on one of the pieces and threads coming out on one of the chairs. I called and had a Mor technician come out to inspect. He made of a order for an exchange. I have had 5 deliveries and both pieces of furniture was defective. Today 03/18/22 will be the 6th delivery for both pieces of furniture. Lets see how it goes. I am not a satisfied customer!!!!

Poor Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Do not buy from Mor Furniture. I purchased a Serta mattress about 6 years ago.

It has a 25 year warranty on it and it is beginning to sag. I have a spring that presses into my hip every night. I contacted Serta and they directed me to Mor Furniture for warranty problems. After filing a complaint, they send this 3rd party group called Integrated Bedding Group to your home to look at the mattress.

This company advised no action and recommended the mattress be placed on a frame. The mattress sits on wooden slots. The tag on the mattress clearly states This mattress is intended to be used without a foundation or with foundations(s) - 1/NFR/ERS-1. Mor Furniture hires these people to come to your home and obviously pays them to find in their favor to prevent them from having to cover the warranty.

This company is not doing it for free. The mattress has visible waves from where the 2 people sleep. It can be seen from across the room. You cannot tell me this mattress is not defective.

I was told I could file another complaint in 30 days. Why? So they can send the same company out again to give Mor an excuse not to cover it again? Simply put, do not buy from Mor Furniture.

Go directly to the manufacturer and purchase it there. You may have better luck covering the warranty.

No answer by warranty on sofa electronics and fabric failures

The manager at the Gilbert & Pecos location was extremely rude and unhelpful

I purchased bar stools that were the wrong height, I had to change them to table height stools which were less expensive than the other ones! The salesman Nabeg is amazing, he went over and above with my purchase and the refunding of the price difference! After 2 months I went in to see what was going on! The manager NEVER submitted the refund! He DID NOT apologize nor did he take responsibility for his error! Instead he was rude &;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; condescending! Ive yet to receive my refund!!!
